One of the warehouses in their portfolio, however, lacked a crucial feature: a functional dock area. Without loading docks, the building faced limitations in attracting high-volume tenants and was unable to offer the loading efficiency expected in today’s fast-moving supply chain environment. This was not a standard prefab dock—our team developed a custom, heavy-duty platform with two independent loading edges, giving the warehouse the functionality of a modern logistic center without requiring major structural modifications.

The platform was built to withstand high-capacity forklift traffic, continuous loading cycles, and the demands of multiple shipment types. By elevating the loading area to dock height, Atlantic Rack created a seamless interface between trucks and warehouse operations. The dual-edge design allows two trucks to be serviced at once, dramatically increasing throughput and reducing waiting times. Atlantic Rack conducted a complete site evaluation to determine the ideal dock height, truck access angles, and forklift maneuvering requirements. Once the engineering plan was approved, the custom steel platform was fabricated and delivered in phases to avoid disrupting tenant operations. Our installation team anchored the structure securely, added safety railings, reinforced loading points, and validated forklift load capacity. The system was tested to ensure smooth, simultaneous operation of both loading edges. Upon completion, the warehouse immediately gained full dock functionality without requiring extensive construction or downtime.
