How Carton Flow Works

Carton flow racking uses gravity to move cartons from the loading side to the picking side. The system is built with slightly inclined shelves equipped with roller tracks or wheels, allowing cartons or boxes to glide smoothly forward as they are picked. Workers load items from the rear of the rack, and as each carton is removed from the front, the next one automatically rolls into place. This first-in, first-out (FIFO) method ensures older stock is used before newer stock, making it ideal for inventory that is date-sensitive.
