About Company

Grupo Hada is a leading multinational manufacturing company headquartered in Colombia, specializing in the production of personal care, household cleaning, and fragrance products for global consumer brands. Founded in 1956, the company has grown into one of Latin America’s most respected contract manufacturers, supplying products to major international companies across multiple industries. With decades of manufacturing expertise and a strong focus on innovation and quality, Grupo Hada operates large-scale production facilities that serve markets throughout North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and other international regions. The company’s continued expansion and growing global demand have driven significant investments in manufacturing capacity, logistics infrastructure, and distribution capabilities.

As production volumes increased and export operations expanded, Grupo Hada identified the need to modernize its logistics network and centralize inventory operations in a new, highly efficient distribution center in Barranquilla, Colombia. This initiative would support the company’s long-term growth strategy while improving inventory control, operational efficiency, and global distribution capabilities.

The Challenge

As Grupo Hada continued to expand its operations, managing inventory across multiple rented warehouses became increasingly inefficient. The fragmented storage setup made it difficult to maintain accurate inventory control and created logistical challenges for the company’s growing distribution needs.

Grupo Hada required a solution that would consolidate its inventory into a single facility while maximizing storage capacity and improving overall organization. The new distribution center needed a racking system capable of optimizing available space and supporting large volumes of palletized products efficiently. In addition, the company sought a system that would enhance operational visibility and better protect its inventory assets.

Selective Pallet Racks

The Solution

To equip the new distribution center, Atlantic Rack supplied and installed a Selective Pallet Racking system designed for organized and efficient palletized storage. This racking configuration provides direct access to every pallet position, allowing forklifts to load and retrieve products quickly while maintaining clear storage lanes throughout the warehouse. The system was engineered to support the facility’s operational workflow and accommodate a wide range of palletized goods handled within the distribution center.

The installation was carefully planned to align with the warehouse layout and operational requirements of the facility. Atlantic Rack designed and implemented a racking configuration that utilizes the building’s vertical space while maintaining proper aisle spacing for forklift maneuverability and safe material handling. The system was built using high-strength structural components designed to support heavy pallet loads while ensuring long-term reliability in a high-throughput distribution environment.

The Results

The new racking installation allowed Grupo Hada to consolidate inventory that had previously been spread across multiple rented warehouses into a single, centralized distribution center. This transition marked a major step forward in the company’s logistics operations, providing significantly greater visibility and control over inventory while simplifying product handling and warehouse management.

The optimized storage layout also enabled the facility to expand its capacity beyond the original warehouse design, increasing storage from 10,000 to 11,500 pallet positions through improved space utilization. This represents a capacity increase of more than 10% without expanding the building footprint, demonstrating how efficient racking design can dramatically improve warehouse performance.

As a result, Grupo Hada now operates a much larger and more organized logistics hub capable of supporting its continued growth and large-scale distribution operations.
